Class Blog 6

When I was young, I had often been underestimated and many people would say that I couldn’t do something. For instance, when I was in 1st grade, I went to a rock-climbing place. The walls stretched extremely high up. My cousin said that he knew I couldn’t climb the medium sized one because I was a coward and that I was weak. His words and disbelief motivated me to show him that I could. Slowly, rock after rock I climbed and pulled myself up and rang the bell. When I came back down, he looked at me and snorted.
He said, “That took you so long.”
I replied back, “You didn’t mention time.”
Another example was when my mom took my other cousin and me to a “cold” store. I saw a claw machine and I wanted to try. I asked my mom but she said no because they were probably rigged. I promised her just once with 10 NT. With that chance, I managed to get one toy out and I proved it to her. It felt good that you proved someone wrong and that you could get back at them and make them be quiet.
